Job Title: Telecoms Civils Blockage Crew

We are seeking experienced Telecoms Civils Operatives to join our growing national team delivering fibre network infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Highway Excavation: Carry out precise excavations in highways, adhering to the NRSWA Code of Practice 1991 and HSG47 regulations.
• Duct Installation: Install new ducting in accordance with industry and project standards. • Blockage Clearance: Identify and remove blockages to maintain optimal network performance. • Rod, Rope, and Testing: Perform rod and rope activities and comprehensive network testing. • Compliance: Ensure all works meet the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in
Highways (SROH). • Customer Engagement: Visit customer premises to facilitate fibre installations, including cabling
from distribution points to properties. • Consultative Communication: Discuss planned excavation works with customers and provide
clear, professional updates. • Safety First: Operate safely within underground and PIA networks, following all relevant Health
and Safety legislation and company procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Full UK Driving Licence: Held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points. • Mandatory Qualifications:
o In-date NRSWA (Street Works) Operative Card holding the following units as a minimum: ▪ Unit 001 – Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus ▪ Unit 002 – Signing, Lighting and Guarding ▪ Unit 003 – Excavation in the Highway ▪ Unit 004 – Reinstatement and Compaction of Backfill Materials
▪ Unit 005 – Reinstatement of Sub-base and Road-base in Non-bituminous Materials
• Network Experience: Proven experience working on fibre networks (e.g. Openreach, CityFibre, or similar).
• Civils Expertise: Skilled in the use of mechanical civils tools and equipment. • Health and Safety: Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and safe
working practices. • Telecoms Experience: Hands-on experience in telecommunications infrastructure. • Customer Service: Ability to deliver an exceptional level of service to customers. • Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Capable of working independently while collaborating
effectively with colleagues.
