Job Title: Head of Commercial Estimation / Senior Estimator – Aluminium Glazing Systems

Location: North West

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Commercial Estimation / Senior

Estimator to join a leading aluminium glazing and façade manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity

for a technically strong individual with experience across estimating, design, and customer support to

take a key role within an established and growing business.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the estimating function, provide technical guidance to

customers and internal teams, and contribute to the ongoing development of the company’s aluminium

systems offering.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and delivery of detailed quotations, tenders, and technical submissions

across a range of aluminium glazing projects.

• Liaise with architects, contractors, and developers to understand project requirements and propose

compliant, cost-effective solutions.

• Oversee the design and estimation process for curtain walling, shopfronts, windows, doors, and

roof glazing systems.

• Work closely with suppliers and system houses to obtain pricing, confirm specifications, and

ensure timely delivery of materials.

• Provide technical and design support to both clients and internal departments.

• Supervise and mentor a team of estimators and order processors, ensuring quality, accuracy, and

adherence to deadlines.

• Monitor project margins, cost performance, and value engineering opportunities to maximise

profitability.

• Coordinate with design, production, and sales teams to maintain smooth project handovers.

• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities

for repeat or new business.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and documentation within the

estimating department.

 

Experience & Skills Required

• Must have experience within the aluminium glazing and fabrication industry, including at least 2

years in commercial estimating.

• Strong technical understanding of aluminium systems

• Competent in LogiKal, or Window Designer and CAD

• Good working knowledge of PAS 24 and Doc Q building regulations.

• Excellent communication and client liaison skills.

• Proven leadership ability with experience managing small technical or estimating teams.

• Highly organised with strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and problem-solving

ability.

• IT literate with strong Excel and CRM system skills.
