Job Title: Façade Designer

Location: Hybrid (Office & Remote) – Gloucester, Gloucestershire

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Role Overview:

A growing design team is seeking a skilled Façade Designer to support the delivery of architectural aluminium glazing

projects as part of an ongoing business expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative façade

solutions while enjoying flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The successful candidate will work closely with design and project management teams, ensuring that all designs meet

the highest standards in quality, compliance, and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality detailed drawings using AutoCAD, adhering to internal design standards

• Manage drawing approvals in line with procurement and manufacturing schedules

• Track and report personal project progress to the Design Manager

• Identify long lead-time materials and support procurement planning

• Maintain clear, professional written and verbal communication

• Collaborate with quantity surveyors on the commercial implications of design changes

• Apply a proactive, problem-solving mindset across design challenges

• Work independently on assigned tasks while supporting wider team objectives

• Offer value-adding input through specification, design innovation, and scheduling

• Provide technical advice to architects, contractors, and installation teams

• Build positive, professional relationships with key project stakeholders

• Accurately document site survey notes and observations

• Complete CDM design checklists and contribute to safety/efficiency initiatives

• Monitor design programme milestones to align with procurement and production timelines

• Seek out cost-saving opportunities in design, procurement, and standardisation

• Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical queries and ensure timely project delivery

• Apply working knowledge of façade-related H&S regulations, building codes, airtightness, waterproofing, acoustics,

thermal performance, and interface detailing

• Ensure compliance with current legislation and uphold best practices in façade design

• Follow all company processes, procedures, and quality standards

• Confident working independently and managing priorities to meet deadlines

• Experienced in architectural glazing or façade design

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
