About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Installation Manager to join a specialist company operating
within the high-end residential glazing sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled glazing professional with a strong technical background, exceptional
attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality installations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining installation standards across projects throughout the
UK. You will be responsible for visiting sites, carrying out quality inspections, identifying and resolving
installation issues, and ensuring completed projects meet the highest standards of workmanship and customer
satisfaction.
This is a varied, site-based position that combines practical technical work, quality control, client liaison and
installation support. It also offers excellent opportunities for career progression into a senior installation
management role.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct site visits across the UK to inspect completed glazing installations and ensure quality standards
are consistently achieved.
• Carry out thorough quality control inspections, identifying defects, outstanding works and areas requiring
attention.
• Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, documenting any issues and communicating required actions
to the relevant Project Manager.
• Undertake minor remedial works and adjustments on site, including hardware adjustments, seals,
alignment and finishing.
• Monitor outstanding snagging items and ensure corrective works are completed within agreed timescales.
• Identify recurring installation issues and provide feedback to management to support continuous
improvement.
• Act as a key point of contact on site, maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors,
architects and site managers.
• Conduct final inspections and handovers with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive
customer experience.
• Ensure completed installations are clean, professionally finished and presented to the required standard.
• Provide clients with appropriate guidance on the operation and maintenance of installed glazing systems.
• Support the Installation Manager with site oversight, installation standards and overall project quality.
Skills and Experience Required
• Previous hands-on experience installing architectural or high-end residential glazing systems, including
sliding doors, structural glazing, windows, rooflights or similar products.
• Strong technical knowledge of glazing installation methods, components and associated hardware.
• Experience in quality control, site inspections, snagging or installation supervision.
• Excellent practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve minor installation issues
independently.
• A keen eye for detail, particularly regarding alignment, levels, sightlines, seals, silicone finishes and
overall presentation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation plans and specifications.
• Competence using laser levels and other relevant measuring equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach when dealing with
homeowners, architects, contractors and site teams.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple site visits and priorities.
• Comfortable preparing written reports and using digital reporting systems on a mobile phone or tablet.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Additional site qualifications, such as slinging and lifting, would be advantageous.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who combines practical glazing installation experience with a genuine commitment to
quality and customer service.
You will be confident working independently, comfortable identifying and resolving technical issues, and capable
of representing the business professionally when visiting clients and construction sites.
As this position involves travelling to projects throughout the UK, including Scotland, flexibility to travel and stay
away overnight when required is essential.
You will be proactive, organised and detail-focused, with the confidence to take ownership of site inspections and
ensure that every installation is completed to an exceptional standard.
Career Development
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced glazing installer, site supervisor or quality control
professional looking to take the next step into installation management.
Working closely with the Installation Manager, you will gain valuable experience in overseeing multiple projects,
maintaining installation standards and supporting the wider installation operation, with the potential to progress
into a more senior management position.
