Location: Watford

Our client is an established manufacturer and supplier of bespoke aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling for residential and commercial projects, supplying builders, installers and contractors.

They are looking for an organised administrator to support stock control and purchasing within a busy manufacturing business. You will help ensure the correct parts and materials are available to fulfil customer orders, maintain accurate stock records and provide customer service and reception support when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Check stock levels against current and incoming orders, identifying shortages and purchasing requirements.
  • Order parts, components and materials from suppliers to support production requirements.
  • Monitor outstanding orders and chase deliveries to help avoid production delays.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, recording stock received, used and adjusted.
  • Support stock checks and compare recorded quantities with the stock physically available.
  • Question unexpected figures, investigate discrepancies and work with colleagues to resolve them.
  • Liaise with production, stores and office colleagues about stock availability and order priorities.
  • Maintain purchasing paperwork and check deliveries against orders, raising shortages or errors.
  • Handle customer and supplier enquiries professionally and provide reception cover, including answering calls and welcoming visitors.
  • Support the team with general administration and accurate data entry.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in administration, stock control or purchasing, with a methodical approach to record keeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence checking figures and questioning discrepancies.
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy office.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, helpful telephone manner.
  • Confident using Excel and computer systems, with accurate data entry skills.
