The company
Our client is a national renewable energy specialist delivering solar PV, battery storage and EV charging for homes and businesses. Its services span surveys, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance, with a focus on quality, safety and customer service.
The role
Working alongside installation teams, you will prepare roofs, fit mounting systems and provide operational support to help deliver safe, efficient solar PV installations.
Key responsibilities
- Fit roof brackets and mounting rails correctly for solar PV installation.
- Route DC cabling to the required locations to support the electrical installation team’s AC works.
- Obtain job sheets from the contracts team and ensure the correct materials and resources are allocated to each property.
- Support colleagues and help improve the efficiency of installation and operational procedures.
- Submit accurate paperwork and photographs of work before, during and after installation to the contracts administration team.
- Contribute to contract planning and keep project information accurate and up to date to support delivery.
- Assist with roof surveys and reports to help determine suitable solar PV layouts and installation requirements.
- Encourage and support colleagues in delivering the work to the required standard.
- Understand the business’s services and take account of customers’ needs and circumstances.
- Follow company policies and procedures, taking care of your own safety and that of others in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
Essential experience and skills
- Proven roofing installation and maintenance experience, including experience within the solar industry.
- Ability to maintain clear, timely and accurate records and share information effectively.
- Ability to use, or learn to use, solar design software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive customer relationships.
- Self-motivation, effective time management and the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to review and develop your own working practices.
- Good digital and data skills, including the ability to assess and suggest technology or software that supports service delivery and customer needs.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Dropbox, Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar and general office equipment.
- Knowledge of, and ability to follow, health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
