Position Title: Self-Employed Window, Door and Conservatory Fitter
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
About the Role
A growing home improvement and glazing business is looking for an experienced self-employed Window, Door and
Conservatory Fitter to support increasing demand across domestic installation projects. Work includes the fitting of uPVC,
aluminium and timber windows, doors, conservatories, roof upgrades, and associated home improvement products.
This opportunity suits a reliable installer or small fitting team with a strong eye for detail, pride in workmanship, and the
ability to deliver excellent customer service in occupied homes.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Duties
• Install uPVC, aluminium and timber windows and doors to a high standard
• Fit conservatories, porches, roof lanterns, bi-fold doors, and glazed extensions
• Carry out replacement roofs, warm roof systems, and glazing upgrades where required
• Remove old frames and materials safely and efficiently
• Ensure all products are installed level, secure, weatherproof, and fully operational
• Complete finishing works including trims, sealants, adjustments, and snagging
• Maintain clean, tidy, and safe working areas on customer sites
Customer Service & Site Conduct
• Represent the business professionally on customer premises
• Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding progress and timescales
• Resolve minor on-site issues efficiently and respectfully
• Deliver a high-quality finished product with minimal disruption
Compliance & Administration
• Follow all health & safety procedures and site regulations
• Provide own tools, transport, and relevant insurances
• Submit job sheets, photographs, and completion paperwork as required
• Report defects, shortages, or technical issues promptly
Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience fitting windows, doors, conservatories, or glazing products
• Strong knowledge of uPVC, aluminium, and timber systems
• Ability to read survey dimensions and installation drawings
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused attitude
