An established, privately owned construction business based in South Yorkshire is seeking an experienced full-time Estimator

& Business Development Manager to join its growing team. The company specialises in the design, manufacture, supply, and

installation of aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors, and shopfront systems for commercial, residential, and student

accommodation projects across the UK.

Primary Responsibilities

This office-based position combines business growth strategy with hands-on estimating responsibilities. The successful

candidate will identify new project opportunities, build and maintain client relationships, prepare competitive cost

estimates, and help secure profitable contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Identify, research, and pursue new project opportunities

• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and industry partners

• Generate leads through networking, outreach, and market engagement

• Arrange introductory meetings with prospective clients

• Attend pre-bid meetings and networking events

• Prepare proposals and tender submissions

• Maintain and manage the sales pipeline

Estimating

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and material take-offs

• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations

• Assess project risks and develop pricing strategies

• Ensure estimates meet margin and profitability targets

• Work closely with operations teams to ensure smooth project handover

• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records
