Job Title: Freelance Project Manager – Curtain Walling

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Job Type: Freelance / Self-Employed

Van Provided: Optional, if required

 

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager with a strong background in curtain walling and

façade systems to manage a high-value project.. This is a self-employed role for the duration of the project,

providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to take ownership of all aspects of project delivery.

You will be responsible for coordinating the installation, managing contractors, and ensuring all works are

completed on time, to specification, and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the curtain walling installation from mobilisation to completion.

• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

• Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings for glazing and façade elements.

• Coordinate deliveries, logistics, and installation schedules on site.

• Liaise with the client, main contractor, and design team to ensure smooth project communication.

• Monitor project progress, budgets, and deadlines, providing regular updates.

• Ensure health and safety compliance across all site activities.

• Problem-solve on site issues, providing practical solutions to keep the project on track.

 

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in project management for curtain walling or glazing systems, ideally on large-scale

commercial or leisure projects.

• Strong knowledge of façade systems, structural glazing, and installation processes.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently on site.

• Health & Safety awareness on construction sites.

• Valid UK driving licence (van can be provided if required).
