Job Title: Glazing Estimator – Retail & Trade

Location: Colchester, Essex

 

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be

responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for retail and trade customers, advising on

the most suitable products for their projects. This includes providing guidance on energy efficiency,

product specifications, installation methods, and budget considerations. Full training in our systems and

processes will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career

in the fenestration industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to new enquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings in our showroom.

• Understand customer requirements and discuss suitable product options tailored to their project

needs.

• Finalise product specifications to generate clear, accurate, and timely quotations.

• Maintain and update customer records and quotation documentation.

• Ensure all quotations reflect current pricing and are updated as necessary.

• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional company image at all times.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tasks and enquiries are managed efficiently.

• Follow up on enquiries and actively contribute to lead generation and sales opportunities.

 

Requirements / Skills:

• Enthusiastic and eager to learn with a proactive approach.

• Previous administrative or office experience is advantageous.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

• Understanding of budgets and cost management principles.

• Competent using computers, customer databases, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.

• Confident in communication, both with customers and internal teams.

• Familiarity with specialist fenestration software (e.g., Business Pilot, Window Designer, Business

Micros, Evonet) is a plus but not essential.

• Knowledge of the fenestration industry is desirable, though full training will be provided.
