Job Title: Solar PV Installer

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Location: St Albans

Work Location: Primarily on the road

 

Role Overview

This position involves the installation of Solar PV systems across various client types, including housing associations, private

residences, and new build developments. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality installations in compliance with

industry regulations and internal procedures. A professional approach, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to

safety and customer service are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Install Solar PV systems to the highest standards in line with MCS requirements and 18th Edition regulations

• Perform repair work and respond to breakdowns as required

• Manage job orders and parts to ensure efficient resolution of issues

• Maintain professional communication with clients and residents

• Ensure all work is accurately documented and cleared through the appropriate systems

• Keep all PPE and tools in good working order

• Participate in project meetings and comply with all quality and safety standards

• Stay current with industry practices and regulations

• Submit necessary paperwork including timesheets, job sheets, and expenses

 

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Solar PV installation

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Electrical Systems

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• BPEC or equivalent qualification in Solar PV installation

• Experience working in the social housing sector or similar environments

• Comfortable working with residents and clients directly

• Full, clean UK driving licence

• Must pass a DBS check
