Job Description
Job Title: Estimator – Architectural Glazing (Residential)
Location: Glasgow (or commutable distance)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join a well-established and growing
business within the residential architectural glazing sector. The company is a specialist importer and distributor of high-
performance aluminium, aluclad, and uPVC windows and doors, working closely with premium suppliers and
manufacturers across the UK and Europe.
Supporting bespoke residential projects — including contemporary homes, self-builds, and renovations — this role
involves providing accurate and timely quotations for high-spec glazing solutions tailored to individual project needs. The
role is office-based (with some flexibility) and will involve regular face-to-face contact with customers at the company’s
Glasgow showroom.
This is not a sales estimator position and will not require field visits.
Key Responsibilities
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and customer designs for residential glazing systems
• Accurately calculate dimensions, materials, configurations, and finishing options (including colourways) for
quotations
• Liaise directly with a network of suppliers and kit companies to request and coordinate quotations
• Interpret and validate supplier quotes before presenting them to customers
• Advise customers on any design revisions or product limitations, suggesting alternative solutions when necessary
• Communicate professionally with specialist builders, trade clients, and self-build customers to guide them
through the quoting process
• Maintain high attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth quotation and order process
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in an estimating role within the fenestration, glazing, or construction industry (residential
focus preferred)
• Strong understanding of windows, doors, and glazing systems, including aluminium, aluclad, and uPVC products
• Comfortable interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage directly and professionally with clients in person
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with fenestration software is not required
• Solution-focused mindset with the ability to offer viable alternatives when project requirements change
• Must live in Glasgow or within a reasonable commuting distance
• Willingness to work from the showroom as needed for customer meetings (not daily office attendance)
Why Join?
This is a great opportunity to join a business that prides itself on quality craftsmanship, contemporary design, and
exceptional customer service. With a growing reputation in the architectural glazing space, the company offers an
engaging work environment and the chance to be part of unique and high-end residential projects.
