Job Description: Store Person – Plant Department

Location: Brimsdown

Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

 

Role Overview:

The Store Person will play a crucial role in the efficient daily operations of our busy Plant Department. This

position involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, maintaining accurate stock

records, and ensuring a well-organised and safe working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Management:

o Create and manage purchase orders and record goods inwards and outwards using bespoke

company software.

o Conduct regular stock checks and ensure accurate stock levels for timely reordering.

• Goods Handling:

o Receive and inspect deliveries for accuracy and damage, utilising forklifts when necessary.

o Update stock systems promptly to reflect changes in inventory.

o Organise and store materials appropriately after delivery.

• Material Preparation:

o Prepare materials for collection or issuance to jobs, ensuring accuracy and readiness.

o Use provided IT equipment to manage and track stock movements.

• Health & Safety:

o Ensure the store area is kept clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

• General Duties:

o Provide support with any other tasks as required to meet departmental needs.

 

Person Specification:

• Experience & Knowledge:

o Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role involving stores, driving, and yard

responsibilities, or equivalent.

 

 

 

 

o Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations and best practices.

• Skills & Attributes:

o Computer literacy with knowledge of stock systems.

o Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and

prioritise tasks effectively.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

o Ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Licences & Certifications:

o Full driving licence (essential).

o Forklift licence (desirable).
