Telecoms Pre-Enablement, Civils & Reinstatement Operative – Virgin Media Network

We are expanding our Virgin Media delivery team and are looking for experienced Telecoms Pre-Enablement, Civils & Reinstatement Operatives to support the construction, maintenance, preparation and repair of the Virgin Media network.

This opportunity is suited to experienced telecoms professionals with a background in Virgin Media, fibre, coaxial, HFC, network build, pre-enablement, civils or underground telecommunications infrastructure. Candidates should be confident working in a field-based environment and have experience preparing, installing, maintaining and repairing network infrastructure.

The Role

Working across the Virgin Media access network, you will support pre-enablement, network build, civils, cable preparation, duct installation, remedial works and reinstatement activities. You will be responsible for ensuring network infrastructure is installed, maintained and prepared to the required quality, safety and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-enablement, network build, maintenance and remedial works across the Virgin Media network.
• Install, repair and maintain underground telecommunications ducting, chambers, cabinets and associated infrastructure.
• Carry out excavation and reinstatement works across footways, carriageways and verges.
• Pull, prove and prepare fibre and coaxial cables through underground duct networks.
• Rod, rope, prove and clear underground ducts, identifying and resolving blockages where possible.
• Break out and reinstate surfaces in accordance with NRSWA specifications and local authority requirements.
• Safely locate, expose and work around existing underground utility services.
• Inspect and maintain cabinets, chambers, footways, carriageways and customer access points.
• Support fibre and coaxial cable installation and wider network construction activities.
• Complete network quality inspections and remedial works to ensure infrastructure is ready for customer installation.
• Operate hand tools, plant, specialist telecoms and civils equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain safe, compliant and well-organised work sites.
• Accurately record completed works using handheld devices and digital job management systems.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety legislation, quality standards and client requirements.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience within the telecommunications industry is essential, ideally involving Virgin Media or similar fibre, coaxial or HFC network infrastructure.

Experience in some or all of the following would be highly advantageous:

• Telecoms pre-enablement and network build.
• Telecoms civils and underground network construction.
• Fibre and coaxial cable installation.
• Excavation, duct installation and reinstatement.
• Underground ducts, chambers, cabinets and associated infrastructure.
• Rodding, roping, duct proving and blockage clearance.
• Network fault finding, defect identification and remedial works.
• Safe digging and working around existing utility services.
• Supporting network installation and customer connection activities.
• Working to telecoms network quality standards and client specifications.
• Operating plant, machinery and specialist civils equipment.
