Civils & Reinstatement Operative – Virgin Media Network

We're expanding our Virgin Media delivery team and are looking for experienced Telecoms Civils & Reinstatement Operatives to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of the Virgin Media network.

Previous telecoms experience is essential. We are looking for operatives who have worked within telecommunications network build, ideally on Virgin Media or similar fibre/coaxial infrastructure. If you have experience delivering telecoms civils, excavation, reinstatement, duct installation, and underground network works, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

As a Civils & Reinstatement Operative, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality civils work across the Virgin Media network. You'll be responsible for excavation, duct installation, reinstatement, blockage remediation, and supporting network build activities while ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation and reinstatement works within footways, carriageways, and verges.
• Install, repair, and maintain underground telecoms ducting and associated network infrastructure.
• Rod, rope, prove, and clear underground duct routes, identifying and resolving blockages.
• Break out and reinstate surfaces in accordance with NRSWA specifications and local authority requirements.
• Install chambers, cabinets, ducting, and other telecommunications infrastructure.
• Support fibre and coaxial cable installation and wider network build activities.
• Safely locate and expose existing underground utility services.
• Operate hand tools, plant, and specialist civils equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organised work site.
• Accurately record completed works using handheld devices and digital job management systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety legislation, quality standards, and Virgin Media client requirements.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must have previous experience working within the telecommunications industry carrying out civils works on underground network infrastructure.

You'll ideally have experience in:

• Telecoms civils and network construction.
• Excavation, duct installation, and reinstatement.
• Underground duct networks, chambers, cabinets, and utility services.
• Rodding, roping, duct proving, and blockage clearance.
• Supporting fibre or coaxial cable installation project
• Working to telecoms network quality standards and client specifications.

You'll also have:

• A strong understanding of safe digging practices and reinstatement standards.
• NRSWA accreditation (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
• Experience operating plant and machinery (advantageous).
• Excellent health & safety awareness.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence using handheld devices and digital job management systems.
• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than six penalty points.
