• Carry out quantity take-offs for cost plans, tenders, and budget control.

• Assist in preparing and submitting tender bids and commercial proposals.

• Help identify risks, omissions, and opportunities during tender review.

• Work collaboratively with the estimating team on pre-contract deliverables.

Post-Contract Duties:

• Support subcontractor appointment processes and administration.

• Assist in managing subcontractor accounts: including measurements, variations, and payment notices.

• Maintain accurate cost records to support valuations, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), and variation claims.

• Participate in cost investigations and on-site measurements.

• Identify and record variations, ensuring commercial recovery in line with contract terms.

• Assist in preparing contractual correspondence using approved templates.

• Monitor cash flow projections versus actual spend and report discrepancies.

• Measure project interim and final accounts.

• Contribute to financial reporting at internal progress meetings.

• Support with weekly or biweekly labour cost assessments vs. budgeted outputs.

• Carry out other commercial tasks as required by the business.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience (or working towards qualification).

• Understanding of standard and bespoke forms of contract (JCT, NEC, etc.).

• Ability to read technical drawings and perform accurate take-offs/BOQs.

• Working knowledge of labour, plant, and material costs.

• Strong organisational and time management skills, especially under tight deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable:

• Experience within the façades, cladding, or architectural glazing industry.

• Familiarity with contract correspondence procedures and financial reporting tools.

Benefits
