Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview
An established specialist contractor in the façade and architectural glazing sector is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join
its commercial team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to work on a variety of technically
complex and high-value construction projects, supporting both pre- and post-contract activities.
You will work closely with commercial, estimating, and site teams to ensure cost-effective delivery and full commercial
control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract
• Manage and control all relevant commercial documentation.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for tendering, cost planning, and budget analysis.
• Assist in preparing tender submissions and commercial bids.
• Identify potential errors, risks, and value engineering opportunities in tender documents.
• Collaborate with the estimating team as needed.
Post-Contract
• Manage project documentation and commercial records.
• Appoint subcontractors under agreed contract terms.
• Administer subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, contra-charges, and notices (e.g., payless or
defect notifications).
• Maintain accurate records for valuations, variations, CVRs, and additional works.
• Investigate and manage project costs as required.
• Measure completed works and variations with precision and consistency.
• Monitor and report project cash flow against budget forecasts.
• Prepare and submit project interim and final accounts.
• Support in preparing and issuing contractual correspondence as per contract requirements.
• Track all additional works to ensure commercial recovery.
• Provide regular CVR updates to senior management.
• Conduct weekly or biweekly labour cost reviews based on outputs and budgets.
• Attend internal meetings to present financial and project progress reports.
• Perform other commercial duties as required by the business.
Person Specification
Essential:
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Working knowledge of JCT, NEC, and other bespoke construction contracts.
• Proven experience with cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
• Strong understanding of labour, material, and plant cost rates.
• Competency in reading technical drawings and preparing take-offs/BOQs.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Willingness to travel to sites across the UK when required.
Desirable:
• Experience within the façades, curtain walling, or architectural glazing sector.
• Strong contractual awareness and commercial acumen.
