Commercial Project Manager
Location: High Wycombe
Reports to: Commercial Head of Operations Manager
Role Summary
Our client is a well-established window, door and glazing specialist based in High Wycombe, with its own manufacturing facility and a successful commercial division delivering projects for developers, contractors and other commercial clients.
They are looking for an experienced Commercial Project Manager to manage commercial glazing, window, door and façade projects from contract award through to final handover.
Working across design, procurement, manufacturing and site installation, you will coordinate the project team and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to specification.
Where the company acts as Principal Contractor, you will also oversee the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) in accordance with CDM Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from contract award through design, procurement, manufacture, installation and handover.
- Prepare and maintain project programmes, identifying critical dates, risks and potential delays.
- Coordinate Designers, Surveyors, Procurement, Manufacturing, Site Management and Installation Teams.
- Oversee technical drawings, surveys and design approvals, ensuring compliance with relevant Building Regulations and project requirements.
- Ensure approved information is issued to procurement and manufacturing in line with programme dates.
- Manage material procurement, subcontract orders and supplier/subcontractor performance.
- Work closely with manufacturing to coordinate production capacity, phased manufacture and site deliveries.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, variations, subcontract valuations and payment applications.
- Provide accurate project information for client valuations and contractual reporting.
- Ensure RAMS are received, reviewed and approved before works commence.
- Maintain appropriate project, commercial and Health & Safety records, including CPP requirements where acting as Principal Contractor.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal departments throughout project delivery.
Personal Specification
Essential
- Proven experience managing commercial glazing, window, door or façade projects.
- CSCS Manager level and SMSTS qualified.
- Strong project planning, leadership and coordination skills.
- Experience managing projects through design, procurement, manufacture and installation.
- Commercial understanding, including subcontract orders, valuations and project budgets.
- Experience working with manufacturing or production teams.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations, RAMS and Construction Phase Plans.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and MS Project or similar programme software.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Knowledge of aluminium window, door and façade systems such as Schüco, Reynaers, AluK, Senior or Technal.
- Familiarity with CWCT standards and façade performance requirements.
- Experience using ERP or project management systems.
