Production Manager – Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors

Location: Watford

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee the manufacture of aluminium bi-fold door sides.

The role will take responsibility for day-to-day production, people, quality and workflow, ensuring products are manufactured accurately, efficiently and to deadline. A strong practical understanding of aluminium window and door fabrication is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production of aluminium bi-fold doors and associated glazing products.
  • Plan workloads, allocate labour and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
  • Drive productivity, continuous improvement and efficient factory workflow.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, quality issues and manufacturing problems.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control throughout fabrication and assembly.
  • Oversee machinery, preventative maintenance and general factory equipment.
  • Manage stock levels and material availability.
  • Lead, motivate and develop production staff, including training on products, systems and machinery.
  • Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth progression of orders through production.
  • Provide technical support and assist with product or site issues when required.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and safe working practices.

Experience Required

  • Previous Production Manager, Factory Manager or Production Supervisor experience within aluminium windows and doors, glazing or a closely related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of aluminium bi-fold door fabrication and production.
  • Experience managing production teams, workloads and deadlines.
  • Good understanding of quality control, machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to improve productivity and resolve production problems.
  • Strong leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills.

This is a hands-on production management position suited to someone who understands aluminium fabrication and can effectively manage people, processes, quality and output.
