Job Title: Fabrication Operations Manager

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire

We are recruiting an experienced Fabrication Operations Manager to oversee the operational performance of a large-scale

fabrication/manufacturing operation.

This is a key factory-based position requiring someone who can take control of production challenges, identify and alleviate bottlenecks,

and drive continuous improvement throughout a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee daily fabrication and production activities.

• Manage operational problems and respond effectively to crisis situations.

• Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.

• Improve production flow, output and overall factory efficiency.

• Set, monitor and maintain meaningful production KPIs.

• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

• Review and improve production processes and working practices.

• Ensure products are manufactured to the required measurements, quality standards and specifications.

• Monitor productivity, quality, output, waste and rework.

• Work closely with factory teams and other departments to resolve operational problems.

• Introduce improvements that reduce delays, increase capacity and improve performance.

• Maintain high standards of quality, health and safety.

The successful candidate will need:

• Strong operational/production management experience within a large-scale fabrication or manufacturing environment.

• A proven background managing a busy factory or fabrication operation with significant production volumes.

• Experience identifying and resolving production bottlenecks.

• A proven record of delivering measurable improvements in output, productivity and operational performance.

• Experience setting, monitoring and managing production KPIs.

• Strong crisis-management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• The ability to improve manufacturing processes, workflow and factory efficiency.

• Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills.

• The confidence to challenge existing practices and introduce more effective ways of working.

• Experience managing quality, waste, rework and production performance.

Advantageous but not essential:

• Experience within aluminium fabrication or aluminium manufacturing.

• Experience within the window, door or fenestration industry.

• Knowledge of aluminium window and door fabrication processes.
