Role Overview
A growing supplier of bespoke glazing products is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience in uPVC
and aluminium systems. This role involves producing accurate quotations for a range of products, including windows, doors,
bi-folds, sliding doors, roof lanterns, and warm roof systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience using estimation software, strong product knowledge, and the ability to interpret
technical drawings to provide commercially sound quotes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for uPVC and aluminium glazing products:
o Windows
o Doors
o Bi-folds and sliding doors
o Roof lanterns and warm roofs
• Read and interpret architectural plans, technical drawings, and site surveys
• Use estimation software (e.g., Business Micros, First Degree, LogiKal, or similar) to generate detailed quotes
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, technical specs, and delivery timelines
• Respond to customer and contractor enquiries with professionalism and clarity
• Maintain and manage a detailed record of estimates, materials, and pricing changes
• Ensure all quotations meet building regulations and industry standards
• Collaborate with internal sales, technical, and project teams on job handovers
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality
• Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and supplier changes
• Manage multiple quote requests and priorities effectively
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an estimating role within the glazing or fenestration industry
• Strong knowledge of uPVC and aluminium window, door, and roof lantern systems
• Proficient in using estimation software such as Business Micros, LogiKal, or First Degree
• Skilled at reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Commercially aware and confident with cost analysis and pricing strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of relevant building regulations and compliance standards
